Intertwining the season 3 episodes Rules of the Game and Dead Man Sliding. Should they have combined them?

They both involve similar principals. Both are televised game shows and end in a potentially deadly scenario. The only difference being Rules of the Game is a voluntary game with a potential prize, while you can easily be framed in The Judgement Game. In Rules of the Game it’s every man for himself like the multiple ways to die with the rotating roulette wheel. For years I’ve practically gotten the episodes mixed up and I’d venture to say you have as well. Need I say the episode names anymore.

One is a journey. Another a judge, jury and death wheel. One ends with the Sliders jumping off a cliff and Quinn in a prisoner suit stealing a woman’s videotape. The prison ending is delightful in a charming way and a much better end scene in my opinion. The Sliders are split up in The Judgement Game while the other is seen as team tactical mission.

Perhaps they could have written a script to involve both scenarios. You have a trial where the guilty sentence is to end up in a combat to combat scenario. Ergo, last man/group standing is pardoned of their crimes. You could end up with Quinn alone battling it out amongst other criminals while the Sliders look for his double. Or, you could have the entire group of Sliders found guilty of a heinous crime and sentenced to a combat scenario.

As you can see the episodes are extremely similar however they do have their own quirks and unique intricacies. It’s almost as if the idea of the Judgement Game was slightly twisted (no pun intended). However you look at it I feel these two could have been combined together and leave a little more worlds for fans to enjoy. See you at the beach.
