Over it’s original span from 1995-2000, Sliders had several guest stars that were noticeable to any TV or movie fanatic. From scifi, to horror and kid classics many of these actors were well known. Yet there were a few who were just getting started. I’ll give a run down of the top 5 guest stars that appeared on the show.

Honorable Mention: Tommy Chong
Most known for his activism for cannabis rights, he pioneered the film industry in marijuana themed movies such as Up in Smoke, Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie, and Nice Dreams. Jerry O’Connell directed the season three episode Stoker and insisted they track down one of his favorites, Tommy Chong for the role. To his surprise he was available.

5. Corey Feldman
He may just be the number one child film star of all time. Known for his roles in the 80s films the Gremlins, The Goonies, The Lost Boys, and Stand by Me, he dominated the movie scene that would have other adult actors jealous of his film status. His co-star from Stand by Me was none other than Jerry O’Connell. Their friendship helped lend to Corey’s role in the season three episode Electric Twister Acid Test and brought about a homage to the Stand by Me skin it scene in the final minutes of the episode.

4. William B. Davis
The cigarette. A vain, addictive and yet deadly smoking roll of tobacco. Yet it’s what helped to propel this actor to main stream status. Well herbal cigarettes that is, as he didn’t want to use real cigarettes. The smoking man in Chris Carter’s scifi thriller, The X-Files is what William B. Davis is best known for to date. He appeared quite briefly and suspiciously in character in the 1995 Sliders episode Eggheads.

3. Barry Pepper
At the time, Pepper was certainly not a very well known actor at the time of his appearance on Sliders. He appeared in the season one episode Summer of Love as a hippie named Skidd. It’s only later until he rose to star status appearing in films such as Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Flags of our Fathers, and True Grit. Pepper continues to get signed on to big films and it would only seem the best is yet to come.

2. Robert Englund
Englund is well known for his role in Wes Craven’s horror franchise A Nightmare on Elm Street as Freddy Kruger. He gave horror a whole new meaning to kids in the 80s and early 90s films. He appeared on the season three Sliders episode State of the Art, in 1996.

1. Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Most certainly the most surprising rise to stardom since his appearance on Sliders is Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He appeared as a criminal hardened character named Sid in the 1996 season two episode, El Sid. Since then he has starred in several large productions such as Watchmen, Red Dawn (2012), and the ever popular character Negan from The Walking Dead.
